a) What roles did you take on for this assignment?
The roles i took on for this assignment was answering the questions 3 and question 4. I also help make the headings for every slide in the presentation.
b) What did you like about working as a group?
What i liked about working as a group was that we were able to share all the ideas and to really enjoy the process. We were also able to cooperate easily. As well as being in a group, it makes the the assessment seem that much funner to do then to do it alone. I also liked working as a group because everyone in the group was able to introduce ideas and to each take on a part to finish the assessment.
c) What was difficult about working as a group?
I think sometimes we weren't able to focus and we would more not concentrate on what needs to be done. Although, we were still able to complete the assessment trying our best. I also found difficult when someone was away in the group which would mean everyone would be at different paces and that everyone wouldn't be up to the same place. I found that difficult because we had to let the person away to catch up and to give time explaining what they had miss.
d) What did you learn about working as a group?
As a group i was able to learn that you have to let everyone have a idea and to think if that idea will help us, you have to be able to share knowledge. I also learnt that you need to rely and to have trust in the other group members that they will get the work/assessment done. I also learnt that working as a group can make it more enjoyable.
e) How well did you work together/cooperatively?
I think as a group we were able to manage quite well to be able to manage as a group itself. We were able to get all the work done and we were able to fix minor bumps we had alone the way. Which mean that we were still able to complete and to accomplish the goals of the assessment. I think we were able to cooperate because we were able to listen to everyones ideas and understand everyone.
f) Did everyone contribute equally and enthusiastically?
Every member of the group took part in answering questions and doing there bit of the assessment. Everyone in the group had something to do or contribute to the assessment so that we could finish it.
g) How well as an individual did you work as part of the group?
I think i was able to work alright with the group. I was able to listen to others ideas and to contribute my part of the assessment by answering my questions that i was allocated and to do anything else that could help the group. I think i did pretty good because i was apart of the group and getting hands on with what needed to be done.
h) Identify our strengths and weaknesses as a group member.
I was able to help the group concentrate by telling them and helping them understand questions. I think i was also able to help them because i could understand and i was able to help any group member who needed help. Although my weaknesses would be that i might need to contribute a little more then i should have. I could of helped with making the find-a-word for example.
i) Outline suggestions to improve your approach to group work.
I think i could improve on concentrating more and focusing on getting the assessment done because that is the main goal. I think i could also try to listen to others ideas more and to be patient with everyone in the group.

In the slide of "bad habits" i used the following pictures:
The first image i used because in my explanation i state how smoking can ruin your health, the same goes for the junk food. That you shouldn't eat so much of it. The last picture is explaining how the fatty food effects you and explains what cholesterol and fatty food does to your circulatory system.

Completed, planning.
Today I finished my slide. I got my information from http://www.healthywaymagazine.com/issue27/04_circulatory_system.html. This site was good because i was able to quickly gather information that was very useful. I was able to learn about the bad habits of smoking as well as bad eating. I was able to learn alot in a level that a lot of young people can understand, ages like mine. I was able to gather enough information to come up with this in my own words:
The Circulatory system needs to be kept healthy. Meaning that your blood has to be healthy. Although a lot of people do things to there body that can damage there own circulatory system. This would include eating to much fatty foods. Fatty foods contain a lot of oil. When we eat too much of it the fat from the food like Maccas, kfc or take away go into our blood. This is called cholesterol. Having high cholesterol is bad because all the fat goes into your blood streams and narrows it down so that the blood cannot go through as well, as fast or as it normally would. This is a very bad habit that people do, yet keep doing it.
Smoking is seen badly for your health in general. But it can also effect your circulatory system. It has many reasons why this is so, some of the reasons are .. less oxygen in the blood, raised blood pressure and heart rate. But the worst case is when the chemicals in the cigarette get carried to your heart which would lead to very harmful things to your body and your life in general.
With the information from the site i was able to write that. This is the paragraphs i will read to the class while on the slide of the presentation i just did summaries of what i'm talking about in bullet points while putting some pictures. I have now completed the work that needs to be done.
Problems.
Today i was absent at school because i had to go to the doctors. And today was the last lesson to work on the assessment as a group. Although i was away not much happen. Only the handout was changed to a "find a word". Erica has completed the handout but since the it wouldn't save she has to do it again. Everyone has also finished there questions except me, so i have to get a move on.

Resources.
This site i found: http://www.ivy-rose.co.uk/HumanBody/Blood/Heart_Functions.php
This site really is a useful site. I was able to learn about what the left and right part of the heart does. It is good because it provides a visual evidence and also it has labeled diagrams. Not only that,. it was detailed and it was easy enough for someone like me, young person to understand. This site was good because i was able to gain the extra knowledge that i needed to write the information for my question.

Planning/finial.
I have just finished my question, question 3. I made a oral part explaining all the different parents of the heart, i then made a flow chart that had diagrams and short bullet points. What i want to do is to show them this while saying my oral part. The question ended up taking 4 slides.
Now i am going to research my next question. My next question i am just going to list down and in short form in bullet points. Ways that you can be unhealthy/not do things to help the circulatory system.
Here are some of the pictures i used for my diagrams:

Planning.
For my 3rd question i have collected and regathered information on how the circulatory systeworks. The info/oral work i have done is this:
The information about the heart and the chambers:
How the system actually works (oral):
The information about the heart and the chambers:
How does the Circulatory System work? Well the heart plays a major role in how the system runs. The Circulatory System is seen as a huge blood distribution network and the heart, the main part of the system makes it possible for the blood to reach to our hands, feet and everywhere else.
The heart has too sides, the right and the left. Each side has a lower and upper chamber. The upper chambers consist of the “atrium” which is thin-walled. The atrium receives blood that enters the heart. Once it enters the heart it then pumps it to the ventricles in the lower heart chambers. In the lower chambers of the heart consist of the “ventricles”. The walls of the ventricles are thicker, they have more cardiac muscle then the atrium does which means that it can pump the blood to the lungs and to the rest of the body.
The circulatory system is seen as a blood distribution network. As the heart plays a huge role to getting the blood circulating the blood around the body the system works like this.
The right side of the heart, in the upper chamber, the atrium is able to receive blood that is carrying carbon dioxide or co2. The blood with the carbon dioxide is able to reach the right atrium via the vein, the vena cava. Once it has reached the atrium it then is delivered to the right ventricle. The right ventricle then pumps the blood to the lungs. Once the blood leave leaves the lungs it is now rich of oxygen or o2, after it has left the lungs it then is delivered to the left ventricle. The left ventricle pumps the rich oxygen blood into the aorta. The aorta is a very important artery it is also the largest and connects to all parts of the body. Once it has left the aorta it then goes into all the different veins and the blood full of oxygen, nutrients and food is disturbed and shared around your whole body.
Planning.
Since the information i had collected and was going to use was not full correct i have collected more factual information that i have then put in my own words.
For my part of the presentation (question 3) i am going to describe a picture of the heart and all the different chambers. I will show them the different parts on the slide but on palm cards, explain to them in more detail. On my slide i have a picture of the heart and the chambers. I have labeled the parts i will mention that are in the Circulatory system. These are the pictures i will be providing:

In the first picture the parts of the heart were already label. All i did was highlight the name of the parts that i needed. In the second diagram i already labeled the parts i will be saying on the presentation. I added arrows and text. I decided to leave it plain and to detail it by not reading off the presentation to make it more interesting. I may be hard trying to multi-task but i think i will do okay.
After that i will go into detail on how the blood is actually distributed to the entire body. I will do this by flow chart. I will provide pictures and in short dot points summaries what i am talking about so they still a visual understand as well as a oral.
I still have not finished my second question.
Planning/Resources/Problems
Today we are in the computer room and we are working on our assessments. Today i tried to start working on my slide for the presentation. Keithmae and Jo-raelene have completed there slide but haven't written the oral part yet. I also showed what i have started on the slides and put headings. Also today .. i learnt that the information i had already collected and put in my own words wasn't exactly right. So right now i am looking for more information to back up my information i had found. Although part of it was right, but not entirely. So i have set out to find out more information and the right facts. The post i wrote (this post), the information was not all correct. So right now i am re writing it, so that the facts are right and it's easy to understand. I am also working on my oral part of the presentation so i can talk about it into detail about whats on my slide.

This site is good because it explains the difference parts of the heart and explains how it works. It is able to use information and sue it in a way that young people can even understand. They also give lots of information that is useful. I learnt things about the heart and how it has lots of different parts to it. I also learnt that it isn't the heart that creates the blood, it only pumps the heart and distributes the blood around our body. I also learnt that there is in the circulatory system, the heart is the key part of it.

Circulatory system Video (youtube, resources)
This video is a good explanation of how the circulatory system works. It has information and a visual understand of how it works. It also uses words and information that young teenagers can understand.
Resources, research.
Today we had a lesson in the library to work on the assessment as a group. Individually we are all researching the information about our questions. I have also decided to make a flow chart for question 3 so that the class can understand it with visual understanding. Also sir helped me with a bit of trouble i was having. Which was not knowing how to present the information in a flow chart. Although sir helped me understand and how to do it on google presentation (the site we are using to make the presentation).
Presentation.
This is a print screen of the first slide that i have already done. It is just a introduction (title page/front page) the start of the presentation. I added the picture that says "circulatory system" and then added a picture and last but not least some text.
I also added the slides for all 7 questions and just putting the question as the heading for each slide. I also allocated them to each person who is going to answer the question.

Questions Add ons/change/edited. (Draft copy)
3. How does it work? (remember that i changed questions with erica, so this is now the information for question 3)
The Circulatory System is an organ. And quite a huge organ that humans have. It passes the nutrients, gases, hormones and things like blood cells.
Blood, one of the most important things we need for our body. The system is mostly seen as the blood distribution network and how blood is distributed around our body away from the heart. It is made up of vessels and muscles that control the flow of blood through out the body, which is known as circulation. Which is how it got it's name "Circulatory System". The main parts of the system is the heart, arteries, capillaries and veins. As the heart is pumping every minute it releases more blood into our bodies. It leaves the heart and then into the aorta, the largest artery in the body. As soon as the blood then leaves the aorta, the blood is now full of oxygen. Which is another important thing humans need to survive. It is important so that the cells in our brain and body can function properly. It then travels throughout your entire body in it's system. As the blood makes it way back to the heart, it travels through lots of different veins, eventually reaching the lungs. We breathe in and out every day, and the lungs play a huge role in that. As blood reaches the lungs, carbon dioxide (the gas we breathe out) is then removed from the blood which is then replaced with fresh oxygen that we inhaled through the lungs.

Problems occur, again.
Since Keithmae has been away most of the time, she here for most of the time. So she is not fully informed on what to do. Although she was having some trouble understanding what her question was (question 7). She was saying she didn't understand her question and wanted to change her question. Although after explaining to her, she understood and kept her question and kept working hard. Another problem is that since Joraelene is a way we cannot fully discuss our group matters with her. She also is not fully informed about the change and the progress that has happened. This was due to Joralene being away. Although the solution to the problem is just to try and help Joralene understand what has happened and the changes that happened when she was away.
Resources, good image.
This image is good because it explains the parts of the Circulatory system. It explains what the different parts of the system. It gives us a visual understand about the circulatory system. This is a valuable picture because it's shows you the cycle and what is part of the system

Descions.
Me and erica both decided that we should swap questions. Since i have already started and answered the question 3. How does it work, although this was already ericas question. But i had already researched that question and wrote information and my paragraph. So Erica accept the offer of swapping questions. So now ..
Ericas Questions:
1. Why do we need it?
2. What parts make up the system?
My questions:
3. How does it work?
4. Bad habits?

The start.
On Saturday the 15th i started working on the presentation of the Circulatory. I have completed on the slide which was the title page. I put a text with the words "circulatory system" that i had made for the presentation. I then put a image of the system to make it decorative and so that people have a visual understand of the system. I also then put what we will provide in the presentation (the questions that have to be answered).
Resources, Useful site.

This site could be valuable because it gives information that could be useful for the project and for the presentation. It is a good site because i can gather the information and use it in my own way so i can complete the project. Also i am able to understand more about the circulatory system and it is information in a manner that young teenagers can understand.

Problems Already Occur.
A few problems have already occurred. Since the group has started late we are kind of in a rush and stressed. Since Keithmae was away for a whole week she was not up to date with the assessment. She had already had a blogspot but she needed to create a gmail. Which took up time. Also because of Keithmae being away she wasn't up to date with her blog or the research. We had to explain to her and show her were the assessment is and what to do. Although the problem was already dealt with because Keithmae is slowly catching up and is nearly up to date.
Another problem was trying to share the google presentation. Since it was the first time setting it up i was getting frustrated. Although i finally worked out how to share the presentation so that everyone from the group come access it and to edit it if needed. Sir helped me to set it up the presentation. Soon after the problem was soon resolved and everyone in the group was connected to the presentation with the help of sir.

Class Handout.
As a group we decided what class handout we would make for the class about our topic. We chose to make a "cross word". We decided to make this as our type of handout because it is a easy yet effective way to learn information. Also because i showed the group that i had found some words that relate to the "Circulatory System" and the definitions. After i showed them the words i suggested to make a cross word. We put thought and effort and finally decided to just make the "cross word" for the class handout.
The Questions Answered.
Today in class the group consisting of Me, Jo-raelene Dalco, Erica Ydia and Keithmae Radam finially started working on the assessment as a group. We worked out what questions we would each answer and what type of presentation we would use so that we could all use it. The presentation we decided to use was http://www.docs.google.com/. We choose this because we already have google accounts or gmail account which would mean we could all access it at home and make changes if needed. We also chose to use that site because we already had a google account or gmail and didn't want it to go to waste. At first we decided that just one person would gather all the information needed and just make it on a Microsoft presentation but that was too complicated and would put work more on one person. But then we decided this would be a better method, using the google site. I chose questions for each member of the group to research and to look up. I asked if it was okay and then said it was okay and agreed to research those questions.
Erica Ydias Questions:
2. What parts make up the system?
3. How Does it Work.
Keithmae Radam Questions:
7. Which Doctor?
(since there was a uneven amount of questions Keithmae only got 1 question)
Jo-raelen Dalco Questions:
5. When things go wrong?
6. Good habits?
My questions:
1. Why do we need it?
3. How does it work?

Artery: Vessel that transports blood away from the heart.
Artery: Vessel that transports blood away from the heart.
Atherosclerosis: Condition in which fatty material such as cholesterol accumulates on artery walls forming plaque that obstructs blood flow.
Atrium: Receiving chamber of the heart.
Capillary: Vessel that connects artery to vein.
Diastole: Period of relaxation and expansion of the heart when its chambers fill with blood.
Hormones: Chemical messengers that regulate body functions.
Hypertension: High blood pressure.
Sphygmomanometer: Instrument that measures blood pressure in millimeters of mercury.
Systole: Rhythmic contraction of the heat.
Vein: Vessel that transports blood to the heart.
Ventricle: Pumping chamber of the heart.
This information would be very handy. It would be useful to make things like a cross word for the "handouts" for the class. It could be good because it has the word and a small definition which could be the clue. But also it is just general knowledge that could be useful.
Resources, useful information/site.
Site: http://www.scienceclarified.com/Ci-Co/Circulatory-System.html
This site explains and gives in detail great depth about the heart, blood and things that relate to the Circulatory System. For example is explains what the purpose of blood is and how it works. This is highlighted in "Blood is liquid connective tissue. It transports oxygen from the lungs and delivers it to cells. It picks up carbon dioxide from the cells and brings it to the lungs. It carries nutrients from the digestive system and hormones from the endocrine glands to the cells. It takes heat and waste products away from cells. It protects the body by clotting and by fighting disease through the immune system." Just from that small paragraph i was able to get so much information. I was able to learn:

The start of the group.
Today we formed our groups. The people in my group consist Me, Erica Ydia, Jo-Raelene Dalco and Keithmae Random, although Keithmae is away due to her being on vacation. Now we are researching our topic which is "Circulatory System" the way we chose our topic was by "lucky dip" sir put the names in a plastic sleeve and then Jo-Raelene went and then ended up with that topic. Although we were hoping to get something else but we decided that "Circulatory System" was our best choice. Right now we are posting our thoughts on our blog and etc. I hope this assessment? or project goes well.

Planning.
Today sir just pretty much ran though the assessment. Going through all the steps and reading out the instructions that were given to us. He also went through the ways of creating a blogger & gmail.
First Post.
Hey, so this my science blog. It's kinda random to do it electronically? Like :L LOLOL! At least i don't have to buy a new book for the science journal, but then again i could of used my old one. But anyways. This is my blog (: , enjoy!
